My work is doing an amusement park takeover. It’s where one or two groups buy out the park for the day. Usually the way it works is the pass will let you ride most, if not all, the rides for free for the day.
When I was about 10, mom and dad had a surprise for Dan and me. It was one of the rare summer days when my dad was home, so our parents decided to take us to a large amusement park a couple of hours from our house. It would make a nice family outing and give us all some bonding moments.
I had been to the park a year or two before with the family of a friend, but I was excited to go with mom, dad, and Dan. Scott didn’t want to go. There weren’t many rides he could go on without getting sick.
When we got there, my dad bought a family day pass. Dad took charge of Dan and mom took charge of me. Since Dan was taller, there were more rides he could go on. I don’t remember too much about the trip except for one ride. I insisted we go on the roller coaster. There were two. I was too small to go on the huge, wooden coaster, so we went on the smaller one. It may have been smaller, but it had enough frights and screams, twists and turns to satisfy!
